We’re digitising the study seat — and everything around it.
Tobixo is a two-sided platform where students find and book a focused place to study, and library owners run their space, take payments, and get paid. This page is the short version of what we’re building and why.
The opportunity
Why this, and why now.
A large market that still runs on paper
India has millions of students preparing for competitive exams and university, and tens of thousands of self-study libraries and cabins serving them. Almost all of that demand is matched by phone call, WhatsApp, and a paper register. There is no default way to find a seat, and no default way to run a space.
The seat is the wedge, not the whole product
Booking a seat is the transaction that brings a student in every single day. That daily habit is what makes everything after it — focus tools, mentoring, test prep, and eventually food, stay, and fitness — a natural extension rather than a separate acquisition problem.
Supply that's hard to assemble twice
Each library on the platform has completed KYC, digitised its seat layout, and set up bank payouts. That is real onboarding work, it makes the listing trustworthy, and it doesn't transfer to a competitor for free.
What exists today
This is a shipped product, not a deck.
Everything below is live in the app, not on a roadmap.
A shipped two-sided product
An Android app for students with map and AI-assisted discovery, live seat layouts, shift-and-date booking, wallet, coupons, and check-in / check-out — plus a full vendor experience for owners to list, manage, and get paid.
Payments and payouts, end to end
Razorpay-backed UPI and card payments, an in-app wallet, coupon handling, refunds, commission, earnings tracking, and bank-verified vendor withdrawals.
Verification built into onboarding
Owner details, library details, address, documents, seat layout, then review — most vendor features stay locked until KYC clears. Slower supply growth, and a marketplace where the listings and the payouts can be trusted.
Retention features around the booking
A Pomodoro focus timer and Rishi, an AI study mentor, in the same app the student already opens to claim their seat — with courses and mock tests next on the roadmap.
The model
How the business makes money.
- 1
Commission on bookings
We take a commission on every booking that flows through the platform. It scales directly with the transaction volume we create for the library, so the incentives point the same way on both sides.
- 2
Owner-side software
The dashboard, seat-layout builder, occupancy view, and payouts replace a paper register. It is the reason an owner stays once the first booking lands.
- 3
Adjacent student spend
A student who sits in the same room for hours a day also eats, commutes, and sometimes needs a place to stay. DesiStore, Stay, and fitness are the in-progress lines built on that, not separate businesses.
In progress
What comes after the seat.
Labelled honestly: these are being built, not shipped.
- In progress
Organic Kitchen
Fresh, home-style food ordered from inside the library — so a study session doesn't have to end at lunch.
- In progress
DesiStore
Stationery, snacks, and daily essentials delivered to your study cabin, without breaking your flow.
- In progress
Courses
Structured course content you can work through between sessions, in the same app you book your seat in.
- In progress
Mock tests
Timed practice tests with scoring, so you can measure where you actually stand before the real exam.
The company
Who you'd be backing.
Tobixo Private Limited is incorporated in India and is the company behind Tobixo — an independent business, not a subsidiary.
We build both sides of the marketplace at once, because neither side is worth anything alone, and we verify supply before we list it. That makes us slower to add libraries than a pure listings play — and it is the reason bookings and payouts on the platform can be trusted.
We’re happy to walk through the product live, share the detail behind anything on this page, and answer diligence questions directly.
